About Jay Janssen

Jay brings a rare combination of hands-on development knowledge, investment background, and transactional experience to The Agency Seattle | Eastside - with a specialty in land, redevelopment, and new construction on the Eastside and throughout the greater Seattle area. His foundation in real estate was built early, working alongside his grandfather — a seasoned investor in Spokane, Washington — where he developed a ground-level understanding of what makes a property valuable, a deal worth pursuing, and the value of relationships in the people oriented world of real estate.

Jay has been involved in more than 200 transactions — owning and operating rental properties, completing multiple flips, and spending years inside the development process, most recently on the principal side working for a luxury developer based in Kirkland.

He focuses on serving two groups he feels are consistently underserved: developers who need a reliable, well-underwritten source of deal flow, and property owners who deserve to know the full range of what their land is worth. With Washington's HB 1110 legislation reshaping density allowances across the entire state, many property owners are sitting on more value than they realize. Jay acts as the liaison between owners sitting on newly zoned land and the developers who will actually pay for it. He takes pride in making sure every client has the full picture — and the right broker beside them when they decide to act. He is committed to white glove, ethical advisory — giving every client honest, well-researched guidance that puts their financial interests first.

Outside the office, Jay is a huge foodie, oyster aficionado, a fair weather runner, mediocre golfer, and a dedicated but challenged yoga student.
